Meadows Elementary and J.D. Dickerson schools have adopted a new dress code for the upcoming year. The purpose of a uniform dress code is to improve the academic environment, instill school pride, provide for school safety, and instill a work ethic by teaching students that conformity in the workplace is necessary for success. At K-5, the following dress code will be adhered to:

· Tops

o Any solid/striped color round neck t-shirt or collared shirt. Sleeveless is allowed, but no tank tops or "spaghetti" straps. Any writing or logo must be smaller than a credit card.

· Shorts/Skirts/Pants

o Solid (any color), stripe, plaid, or denim shorts or skirts. Must be knee length with no writing on pockets or legs. Solid pants or jeans with no writing on pockets or legs.

· Dresses

o Solid, stripe, plaid, or denim. Must be knee length.

· Shoes

o No flip flops, heels, or cleats will be allowed.

· Athletic Wear

o Round neck t-shirts that represent collegiate, Vidalia City Schools or Vidalia Recreation Department are the only athletic t-shirts allowed.

o Athletic shorts of any solid color must be knee length, with or without side stripes, and writing or logo smaller than a credit card.

o Athletic pants of any solid color with or without side stripes.

o Hoodies-Only collegiate or Vidalia City Schools representation will be allowed.

· Outer Wear

o All outer wear (jackets, coats, sweaters or pull-overs) are allowed as long as they are appropriately sized and do not promote vulgarity or any other school system.
