Sally D. Meadows students honored veterans in November by bringing pictures of family and friends to our media center for all students to see the strong ties we have to those past and present who serve this great nation. Students also learned about Veteran’s Day in social studies, had veterans to come and speak, and used the time to write about the importance of remembering those who have sacrificed for our great country.
To culminate the learning experience, students raised $850.00 for the Wounded Warrior Project to honor those who given so much to protect our U.S Constitution and keep America safe. The Wounded Warrior project stresses duty, honor, courage, commitment, integrity, country and service. Through this project, our students learned how each of these character traits found in our military keep America the greatest free nation on earth.
